Matix was being a helpful big brother last week so when he asked for a popsicle as a snack, I happily obliged. We broke the popsicle in two and I promised to give him the second half after he ate the first. To my surprise, he came back with a cleaned off popsicle stick in less than three minutes. It could have been less. I had not even left the fridge when he was begging for the other piece. He took off with the second piece as happy as he could be and I lost visual contact with him while I was in the family room feeding Keira and he was in the living room playing with his books. Well, about 30 minutes had passed since I thought about that popsicle, that is until I walked into the living room and found it had melted on top of the hope chest. I didn't say anything to Matix and was about to grab a wet cloth to clean up the mess when I heard Matix start to cry. He was standing in front of the hope chest asking me what happened to his popsicle. I had to explain to him that a popsicle will melt if left out for too long and I jokingly told him to lick up the liquid since it was still his popsicle. Umm... yeah, Matix didn't think it was a joke since I found him licking the hope chest clean of what was left of the popsicle.
